What should I do if my child suffers a dental injury (chipped/broken tooth)?

Any dental trauma is a medical emergency, regardless of severity. If a baby tooth is involved, stay calm and reassure your child. Do not attempt to reinsert a knocked-out tooth. Call a pediatric dental clinic for immediate guidance and schedule an urgent consultation.

If a permanent tooth is affected, recover the tooth or broken fragment carefully without touching the root. Place it in a suitable liquid medium (saline solution or milk) and go to a specialized dental clinic as soon as possible—ideally after calling in advance for instructions.
